How daily electricity cost is calculated
Daily cost = daily kWh × price per kWh + daily standing charge
For example, 9 kWh at 25p per kWh is £2.25. Add a 50p standing charge and your estimated daily cost is £2.75. Use your own tariff for a more accurate figure.
Why your daily usage changes
Usage tends to be higher on cold, dark days, when you're home all day, or when you run high-power appliances such as tumble dryers and heaters.
